Wedding Gown Buying Made Simple

September 15th, 2008

Your Wedding Gown is a once-in-a-lifetime dress. Make yours the gown of your dreams by following these tips:

  • Bring a trusted friend with you to try on dresses. Often mothers and wedding attendants are included in wedding gown shopping. Ultimately, the decision is yours, trust your instinct and buy the one that makes you feel fabulous!
  • Try dresses on with shoes that are the same size heel you’ll be wearing on the wedding day. Also, try the dresses on with proper undergarments.
  • If you’ll be wearing your hair in an “up-do” on your wedding day, put your hair up when trying on dresses too so you get the best impression of your dress.
  • Try different styles of dresses to determine what is most flattering. Listen to the advice of the bridal consultant at the dress shop. They know their inventory and can suggest a style you haven’t thought of but may be perfect for you!
  • If the bridal shop allows, take pictures of you in the dress from different angles to get a feel for how you will look in the photographs on the wedding day.
  • Allow yourself plenty of time to order a dress if your not buying off-the-rack.
  • Check on alteration pricing.
  • Pay the deposit with a credit card in case of a breach of contract.

Enjoy!
